Kelly Drown > Early morning at our own private lake at a cabin we rented -- Lake Lene in Jasper Arkansas.
Kelly Drown > Beaver's Bend State Park. This was taken when the water was fairly low. I had to wade out into the stream with my gear to take this shot. It was early morning and about 40 degrees out. The cypress trees' roots rise from the ground forming "knees" - in this shot I imagine them being like people or ghosts wanding through the mist, creating an eerie atmosphere in the quiet morning.
Kelly Drown > Early morning at Beaver's Bend in Southeastern Oklahoma. Lots of fog in the mornings if it's cool enough, and the sun coming up over the hills and spilling into the valleys make for some very dramatic scenes.
Kelly Drown > This was one of my favorite shots - the water is the only part that's fake. Where the water stands in the foreground, was actually a road and it really detracted from the image so I removed it and put the water in it's place.

Kelly Drown > Interesting effects happen when shooting in caves where you have mixed lighting. The green light in the far back is florescent, the lighting inside the cave is incandescent, and the foreground is illuminated by my flash. Careful metering make these fun shots. This is a full power pop from my flash, then leaving the shutter open for an extended period to bring the ambient light levels up to match.
